MTB routes, forest trails or quiet country roads
With the hills and valleys of the area you can always go on an exciting bike ride - whether you are on a country road, path or mountain bike through the woods, we have everything in the vicinity. It is also possible to take the bike on the boats and on the train, so you can ride back to the site from Sky mountain, Silkeborg or somewhere else.

Hilly landskape, fields and forests
Laven is Denmark's only mountain town, so it's almost self-evident that it's a great area to wander in. By the lake there is a chance to go for a long, nice trip around Bomholtvig to the other side of the lake. From there you can see the beautiful village of Laven, and how the campsite falls into the landskape. The area is perfect for walking / hiking - it's almost relaxing.

Himmelbjerget (Sky Mountain)
Take an excursion to Sky mountain and experience the magical views of the lake and land. Sky Mountain is 147 meters high and although it is not Mount Everest it takes a bit to climb. Take the picnic basket and enjoy a nice day in one of Denmark's most beautiful areas.
Canoeing, kayaking or dinghy
Have a day on the water with your own equipment or rent a canoe at Terrassen Camping. Alternatively, you can rent canoes in Ry or Silkeborg. It's a great experience to sail around and explore the lakes - while giving you a truly unique view of the area from the water.

Hjejlen
Experience a historic trip on the Silkeborg Iakes with Hjejlen. Hjejlen is a steemboat from 1861, thus one of the oldest steamers in operation.
Randers Regnskov
Randers Rainforest is a tropical zoo, where you can experience the animals close up. Take the trip to Africa, South America, Asia - or maybe in the Snake Temple. The day is filled with instructive experiences and exciting animals.

Terrassen Camping is a 4-star campsite with 250 units plus cabins, mobile homes and mobilehomes. Most of these are set apart on terraces, so the magnificent view of the Silkeborg lakes can be enjoyed unobstructed. Camping at Silkeborg

Just below Terrassen Camping there is a direct train link to Silkeborg and in just 11 min. Are you in Silkeborg center. In addition to train connections, you will also find tourist boats that can take you to Silkeborg, Ry or to the sky mountain.
